SoBro’s Goo Goo Shop & Dessert Bar will close Sunday, April 25, to undergo a $2 million upgrade, with the future space to offer visitors an immersive experience and alcoholic beverage options plus interactive classes, a design-your-own confection station, a full-service chocolate bar and a retail shop. The chocolate bar will serve premium chocolates, wine and whiskey pairings, alcoholic milkshakes and a rotating selection of seasonal treats. According to a release, the downtown business will reopen in September on Labor Day weekend.
Located at 116 Third Ave. S., the shop opened in 2014 and allows visitors to see Goo Goo clusters (original, pecan and peanut butter flavors) being made. It also offers a retail component.
