Gas pipeline interconnection between Bulgaria and Serbia inaugurated. The gas that now arrives via this route comes from Azerbaijan and should allow Serbia to reduce its almost total dependence on Russian supplies. Azerbaijan plans to double its gas exports to Europe by 2027, thanks to this route, reports our correspondent in Belgrade, Laurent Rouy. This pipeline is in addition to the "Balkan stream" route for Russian gas, which until now has reached the Balkans via the Black Sea, Turkey and Bulgaria.
Violent incidents took place on 26 and 29 May in the Serb-majority north of Kosovo, between the local population and the Kosovo Special Police, and then NATO soldiers.
