Bolton Game to Go Ahead If Staff Numbers Adequate

Town’s game at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday reportedly will go ahead as planned following this evening’s emergency meeting of the Safety Advisory Group, as long as there are adequate staff at the University of Bolton Stadium.
As previously reported, an update is expected in the morning regarding Saturday’s match and also Bolton’s home game against Middlesbrough next Tuesday.
The fixtures were cast into doubt yesterday when the Safety Advisory Group withdrew the ground’s safety certificate with the Trotters “unable to commit to meet the obligations of its safety certificate until after a scheduled appearance at the High Court”. ....

Town’s game at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday and the Trotters’ subsequent home fixture with Middlesbrough next Tuesday are in doubt after the Safety Advisory Group (SAG), who are responsible for issuing the general safety certificate at the University of Bolton Stadium, said the club cannot demonstrate that the stadium can deliver the matchday operation to the standard required .
An EFL statement reads: “The EFL has today been informed that the Safety Advisory Group (SAG), responsible for issuing the general safety certificate at Bolton Wanderers, has placed a prohibition notice on the club under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975. ....

Bolton Players Refusing to Train Over Unpaid Wages

The Bolton Wanderers squad, who the Blues travel to face on Saturday, are refusing to train for 48 hours after the club again failed to pay wages on time, while matchday staff are reportedly threatening to strike at the weekend.
According to
BBC Radio Manchester, the players have taken the action in solidarity with off-field staff with salaries - both players and staff - not having been paid as scheduled for the second successive month, February s wages having been paid late.
On March 20th, Wanderers, 23rd in the Championship, eight points ahead of the Blues, were given two weeks to settle their debts and avoid a winding-up order relating to a tax bill of £1.2 million at the High Court with the hearing adjourned until April 3rd, this Wednesday. ....

Pair confirm interest in buying Watford
Panos Thomas and Laurence Bassini have confirmed their interest in buying the Hornets parent company Watford Leisure Plc by releasing a statement to the Stock Exchange.
The Watford Observer reported how orthopaedic surgeon Thomas was to be the frontman for Bassini s takeover of the club.
And the pair subsequently released a statement on the Stock Exchange website confirming they were “considering making an offer at or around 1 pence per ordinary share” but added “there can be no certainty that an offer will be forthcoming.”
The statement read: “Mr Panagiotis (Panos) Thomas and Mr Laurence Bassini note the recent media speculation concerning a possible offer for Watford Leisure plc ( Watford ). ....
