NSFAS explained that this new rule stipulates that those students who are enrolled for courses that added up to less that 60 credits collectively, will be required to provide their own funding for their living expenses.
Students protesting after NSFAS’s threats to defund those enrolled in courses with less than 60 credits resulted in CPUT suspending academic activities last week.
The institution evacuated students living in its residences as a measure to mitigate the intensity of recent student protests - a process it said happened without a hassle.
