San Francisco offers free, pop-up COVID-19 testing ahead of Christmas By Daniel Montes article SAN FRANCISCO - Amid an unprecedented statewide surge of COVID-19, San Francisco officials on Tuesday announced the city will open up a pop-up testing location ahead of the Christmas holiday to further serve some of its most impacted residents the Latino community and essential workers. The new pop-up testing site will be at the corner of 24th and Mission streets, a central transit hub in the city s Mission District, on Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free, low-barrier testing is being offered through a partnership between the city s Department of Public Health and the Latino Task Force, with staff who speak English, Spanish and Cantonese.
