Police say thieves from the bay area are traveling south targeting some of the top tourist here because they are, this is more likely to have better merchandise, better tourism. Reporter police say their rodeo drive area seems to be a favorite spot for the bay area burglars. Pricy purses and designer clothes are a big draw. Get anything that they can from personal property to recently purchased items that are still in the vehicles and then they return almost immediately back to the bay area. Today the contra costa Water District will consider mandatory water cutbacks of 25 . Right now they are asking for a voluntary cut back of 15 . The board will also take a look at possible rate hikes and consider a ban on watering your lawn more than twice a week. As for the rate hikes, the board will have a public hearing in june. Fremont residents will be seeing an 8 water rate hike. The alameda Water District approved the increase last night. The lack of water isnt the only concern in fremont though. Its an aging infrastructure that needs repair. The district says it must charge its customers more to pay for those repairs. With this rate increase, the more water you conserve, the higher your bill will increase percentagewise. A spokesman from the Water District says a decrease in use means less money for them. In santa cruz, mandatory water rationing begins may 1. City council declaring a stage 3 water emergency there. Everyone will be required to cut water use by 25 . Yesterday, eas
