Kaduna crash: UI mourns postgraduate student, Olayinka

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Adebola Ekanola, has commiserated with the family of Brig.- Gen. Olatunji Luqman Olayinka, who died along with others during last Friday’s military plane crash in Kaduna.
Ekanola also commiserated with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and Nigerians on the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Late Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, and other gallant officers in the ill-fated military plane crash.
A statement by UI Spokesman, Olatunji Oladejo, said the Late Brig.-Gen. Olayinka, 51, was an MPhil/PhD student in the Department of Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies, Faculty of Multidisciplinary Studies, University of Ibadan. ....

Military plane crash: UI mourns postgraduate student, Gen. Olayinka


Olatunji Oladejo, said the Late Brig.-Gen.
Olayinka, 51, was a MPhil/PhD student in the Department of Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies, Faculty of Multidisciplinary Studies, University of Ibadan.
Oladejo quoted the Acting VC as describing the late Brig.-Gen. Olayinka, as a highly cerebral, diligent, disciplined and focused officer, who was interested in using strategic studies to address security challenges in Nigeria.
Ekanola, who offered prayers and sympathies to the families of the bereaved, said that the death of the fallen gallant officers was a huge loss to Nigeria.

My mother was born a queen in every sense of the word and she had the heart of an angel. Always giving, sharing and caring for others – and even strangers. She was a pillar of strength to many, especially me. She taught me to serve and love God, whole heartedly and depend on Him for everything, put my trust in Him and Him alone.
Morenike Olatorera Coker was born 7th February 1946 to Pa Akinwumi and Mrs Cecilia Idowu Coker (of the Jibowu Taiwo Family of Egbaland) in Nigeria. She attended Ago-Ijaye Methodist ,Ebute Metta, then Methodist Girls High School, Yaba Lagos. She was a devoted Girls Guide member. Shortly after leaving secondary school, she lost her mother on the 25th of July 1963 (who was buried on the 27th July same year) leaving behind eight children – Morenike being the second child and the eldest girl, ....

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], December 17 (ANI): The Victory Flame, which was handed over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to various Army commands on the 50th anniversary of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, reached Gurugram on Thursday, and was handed over to the wife of veteran Late BrigadierKailash Prasad Pande, Saroj Pande.
On behalf of the Southern Command of Indian Army Colonel Deepak Taluja of Army Air Defence on Thursday felicitated Saroj Pande, wife of Late Brig KP Pande, MVC a 1971 war veteran, on the occasion of Swarnim Vijay Varsh at Gurugram. The event marked the commencement of carriage of Victory Flame to Southern Cardinal direction after it was handed over to various Army Commands in a mega event on 16 Dec 20 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at India Gate, Indian Army said. ....
