I think his notetaking will prove to be a key data source. i m curious, kaylee, because, look, andrew mccabe was fired 26 hours before his retirement after 21 years of service. doesn t the appearance of that, doesn t that come across as vindictive to the general public just on the face of it? not when you look at the underlying facts. you had a non-political arm of the fbi, the office of professional responsibility, and the i.g. office, find wrongdoing on the part of mccabe. there are a lot of conservatives sitting back and asking, mike flynn is convicted for lying to federal investigators and now we know that mccabe was not candid with federal investigators. a lot of people are asking why one is treated one way and another is treated another way. here s the thing though. what people are noting is that this happens at 10:00 p.m. eastern on a friday night. andrew mccabe is set to retire today, by the way, his 50th
These are not political appointees. everyone that i know of speaks highly of who ahorowicz. he s viewed as completely apolitical. this office as you know is insulated like a sherman tack from any type of outside forces. look, it is easy to say this was politically motivated and certainly does not help at all when the president is kind of spiking the football in the end zone here, however, the inspector general horowicz is an obama appointee. would it not have been malpractice if sessions did not fire mccabe? again, i ve not read the inspector general report. i have tremendous respect for him and the office. the real issue is was jeff sessions appropriately involved in this decision at aural based on the fact that he was recused from the investigation? that s the first question. the second question, was this decision made free from any political interference. when you look at the track record, i think it s reasonable
To have questions about ensuring that this was done appropriately and without any political interference and that all of the standards were followed. i think it s an appropriate area of inquiry. again, we have to do everything we can to protect this investigation, to be sure that people who have important information are not suffering a consequence like termination from their job because they have the information. there s a lot of questions. if we didn t have a president who was actively involved in undermining this investigation, in trying to stop it, in trying to obstruct justice, then i think we would have more confidence. i think there s a lot of real questions here. this is the danger of a president involving himself in an ongoing investigation and in an inappropriate way. to your point with all of these questions, you re not alone here. your fellow democrat caram caramella harris said they need to answer these questions. do your colleagues on the house
Birthday, and 26 hours beforehand. i mean, people are going, wow, this guy s not going to get a pension potentially after 21 years of service within the fbi. on the face of just that doesn t that seem unsavory? not at all. he misled federal investigators. there are penalties for actions. you know, this finding came out just before the firing so that s why the timing of the firing drk you had this finding on the part of the fbi saying and recommending the firing of the deputy fbi director. all right. well, unfortunately, my producer just told me in my ear that we re going to have to wrap. there is a lot to say. there would be a lot to say. tracy, i m going to have you back again and lead with you. both of you ladies, thank you so much. first daughter and senior adviser. ivanka s rolls and a.m. joy on why barry says president trump
Say that about someone who writes a contemporaneous memo, that the reason prosecutors rely on the notes of a meeting, there s no reason to be untruthful. in fact, you wouldn t really know how to change the notes at the time the meeting occurs. sure now months down the road we can see how those notes might be helpful to mccabe. at the time he would have written down his notes of the conversation with the president, he wouldn t have had any idea how to spin them so he could benefit them at this point in time. those notes will be reliable and change that in very specific ways. i think these notes will emerge as a strong piece of evidence to support mccabe s version of what happened. gentleman mee jemile, i thou
