maybe. okay. david ciccilie, good to see you. joining me now, caitlyn burns. na eesh shah ras could he. ladies, good morning to you here. i want to start with the president s latest tweets. trump calling out mueller by name and going after his team. what do you think is behind this, caitlyn? well, the president has been active, as we know, in trying to undermine this investigation. the fact that he used mueller s name, which i don t believe he has before, shows how invested he is in all of this in terms of what it means for him. what s interesting about the mccabe and the report issue, this could have been an opportunity for the president to say, look, this is an independent investigation by the fbi that found wrongdoing by the fbi. instead he has been going after mccabe, denigrating him for months now and also, of course, denigrating his own attorney
calm him down in fits of rage, but in terms of being able to really counter him, i think she s proven herself to be no not that effective. this is a far cry from promising family leave after the birth of a baby which was one of her linchpin positions to work on. i know she told her colleagues at the washington post, i m a daughter to the president and adviser to the president. i respect in that role i must work incredibly diligently to follow protocol as any other staffer would. how does this duel role make it more challenging for her? is it more difficult? difficult in what way? nobody knows exactly what her role is. of course she says she has to work diligently to create those lines. she is her father s daughter and she does use that position when

he talked about one specific meeting with him. the president said he has met with him, very little time but, yes, they ve met. he s turned notes over. how do you interpret that? i interpret that as another sort of standard operating procedure for an agent to participate in a meeting and then walk out of the meeting and take those detailed notes. i think we ve learned whether it was with james comey or other prominent people, there have been many, who have been part of this investigation. the notetaking process is something that has been fairly difficult to criticize. and i think trump was attempting to do that by saying that mccabe wasn t sitting in the oval office scribbling notes as they were talking. of course, that s not the standard operating procedure so i do believe that that will prove to be critical. the question question, was mccabe aware of what comey and trump have been discussing what trump was requesting.
