Marcus Mariota wasted little time making an impact for the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday night.
The backup quarterback, who came on for injured starter Derek Carr, threw a beautiful 35-yard touchdown pass to tight end Darren Waller in the second quarter against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mariota, who has accuracy issues with the deep pass in the past, dropped a dime to Waller.

Marcus Mariota’s debut with the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night drew praise from coach Jon Gruden, his teammates and from the Los Angeles Chargers.
However, the most interesting compliments came from Mariota’s former teammates with the Tennessee Titans, where Mariota spent the first five years of his career before he signed with the Raiders in March. The comments on Twitter by his former teammates showed how much love and respect they still have for Mariota.
