He started to feel an acute shortness of breath, and he did something he rarely does in training: he stopped. I stopped halfway out. I was five miles out on some random dirt road in Flagstaff. I walked for a few minutes, which I just don’t do.” ....

Seidel, whose stunning second place finish at the USA Olympic Team Trials nearly a year ago in Atlanta catapulted her into the national spotlight, enjoys both running and driving fast. “This thing goes fast,” she said of her car. “I’m a bit of a leadfoot.” ....
