Pruitt said if the bond passes, the funds from the first proposition will be used for various updates to school sites throughout the district. The proposition will be used to perform improvements district wide, including, but not limited to: HVAC units, restrooms, roofs, sidewalks and curbing, concrete repairs, to acquire and install technology equipment infrastructure district wide and acquire vehicles for district use. In addition, Pruitt said the second proposition will be used to acquire buses to transport students. If passed, Pruitt said there will be no projected tax increase. The Shawnee News-Star The second day of candidate filings for municipal office in Pottawatomie County ended at 5 p.m. Tuesday, resulting in three new candidates filing. A total of 11 candidates had filed going into Wednesday s final day. Candidates are able to continue to file Declarations of Candidacy until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, Secretary of the Pottawatomie County Election Board Jeannie Stover said. The filings will be accepted at the county election board office. The municipal offices will be filled with a non-partisan election April 6. The Shawnee News-Star The candidate filing period for municipal office seats in Pottawatomie County towns wrapped up at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Nine filed declarations of candidacy the last day, bringing the total of candidates who filed for office to 20. All of the open positions were filed for and many were unopposed and will fill those seats. In some of the municipalities, multiple candidates filed for the same seat so an election will be needed. In Asher, four people filed for the three board of trustees positions. In Maud, two people filed for the Ward 2 seat. In McLoud, two people filed for the council member at large position. ....
