Joe Todd Historian This is the first installment of an interview that historian Joe Todd did with Vietnam veteran Larry Seigel on Nov. 18, 2020, in Bartlesville. The interview has been lightly edited for length and clarity. Larry Seigel was born May 29, 1948, in Davenport, Iowa, to George Wayne and Lois Irene (Lumis) Seigel. Todd: Did you go through school at Davenport? Seigel: No, I was born there and we came back to Coffeyville. I don’t know when; I was a baby. I started the first grade at Coffeyville, then we moved to Topeka. My dad worked construction. We lived in Topeka two or three years, then we came back to Coffeyville for a short period of time and before school started, we moved to LeClaire, Iowa. I went to LeClaire in the fifth grade and sixth grade. Seventh grade, I went to Bettendorf, Iowa. After that I came back to Coffeyville and have been in Coffeyville ever since except my two years in the Army. ....
