EXPOSED: How Kogi Chief Judge, Chairman Of Magistrates Association Arranged Kangaroo Trial For Buhari-Must-Go Protesters


They carried protest banners, with inscriptions such as, “Yahaya Bello, Where is Emmanuel Larry?.”
The two protesters, who were arrested, molested by thugs sponsored by the Kogi State Government and detained by the police, had also fallen critically sick. 
SaharaReporters learnt that the two protesters had also been denied medical treatment.
“They are seriously ill and not getting treatment. The state government is hell bent on keeping them, perhaps until they die in custody?” a source had stated.
A month ago, global human rights organisation, Amnesty International, had demanded the unconditional release of the two Buhari-must-go protesters, adding that the protesters only crime was that they were “peacefully protesting against corruption and distributing posters that were perceived to be critical of the President.” ....

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has officially taken the matter of two anti-President Muhammadu Buhari protesters detained arbitrarily in Kogi State before the United Nations. 
The group said it had sent “an urgent complaint to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention over the arbitrary detention and ill-treatment of activists –Larry Emmanuel and Victor Anene Udoka –simply for peacefully exercising their right to protest in Kogi state.” ....

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has sent a petition to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention over alleged Federal and Kogi State arbitrary detention and ill-treatment of activists Larry Emmanuel and Victor Anene Udoka for peacefully exercising their right to protest in Kogi state.
In the complaint dated May 25, 2021, by SERAP Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare, the organization said: “The detention of Larry Emmanuel and Victor Anene Udoka constitutes an arbitrary deprivation of their liberty because it does not have any legal justification. The detention also does not meet minimum international standards of due process.” ....
