HARTVILLE - Police said they have arrested a suspect in connection with an early morning home burglary. Steven R. Chaney, 42, faces charges of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated burglary and two counts of attempted grand theft, according to Police Chief Larry Dordea. Chaney was taken into custody just outside Hartville. Dordea said he hopes the incident serves as a reminder for Hartville residents to lock their doors, especially at night. The victim s home was unlocked when the armed suspect entered it Monday morning, he said. Police, detailing the case on Facebook, alleged Chaney initially tried to steal the homeowner s truck but failed. The vehicle ignition was damaged in the process. He also tried to steal a motorcycle but it wouldn t start, Dordea said Monday. ....
