With the number of road traffic accidents on the increase across the Wexford Borough District, Sinn Féin candidate Lorraine Smyth has called a meeting for April 7 in Barntown Community Centre during which members of the public will be invited to discuss ways to make our roads safer. Since declaring her intention to run for council earlier this year, Ms Smyth has been canvassing in the district’s villages and rural areas and says residents in these areas have some grave concerns about traffic safety.
While the Wexford town bolt bike scheme has been a success since its launch last year, calls are now being made to extend it to the outskirts of the town so more people can avail of it. Sinn Féin candidate for the Wexford Borough in this summer’s forthcoming elections, Lorraine Smyth, is a resident of Barntown and says those living there should be able to access the bikes.
