going to deliver this infrastructure bill to his desk tonight. and that is really what the white house is waiting and watching just as much as the rest of us essentially to see what s going to happen on capitol hill. because white house officials did start their day with that jobs report, exceeded the expectations of economists and you saw president biden coming out to not only tout those numbers but also to use them as a reason he said, essentially a launching point to pass these bills. not only just to pass them, he wanted to get them passed right now. and that would mean getting that infrastructure bill to his desk. if it does pass the house and sending that other bill, the larger social safety net expansion package to the senate so they can start working on it. we re seeing in the hours since we last heard from president biden how the timelines are shifting. and nancy pelosi saying they re going to move forward with that vote on infrastructure today. of course, it remains to be see
larger spending bill. is there potentially any change in strategy where you would vote for that bill or the members of your caucus would vote for that bill, before a senate on the larger social safety net bill. we never called for a senate we had called for a senate vote some time ago. we backed off that position in deference to the president and with trust to the two senators and the rest of the senate. we now have said that we will vote for both bills in the house together. and that s what we re going to do. that s what we are ready to do, and so i hope that the senators who have been negotiating in good faith with the president of the united states as the president is in glasgow talking about how important it is that we make significant investments in climate change and do many of the things that we re talking about doing. i hope that every senator, including those that want to speak about where we are in negotiations understands that we are getting ready to pass through the hou
what more can you tell us. reporter: this is an important meeting. differences have not been resolved yet. it s also about the process. it s a similar debate that they have been having for months, including in september, that led to the first delay of the bipartisan infrastructure vote that has not yet gotten a vote in the house, despite passing the senate in august. pramila jayapal told me last night she believes both the infrastructure bill and the larger social safety net package need to pass the house simultaneously. that s a problem because democratic leaders hoped there could be a general agreement, a framework agreement on the larger package and that would be enough to pave the way for passage of the infrastructure bill this week. actual drafting could take an additional several weeks potentially to get that all through. do they resolve their process differences, that remains to be seen. on the policy, there are some major sticking points left, even though democratic leaders h
they don t go away as a source of revenue to pay for how we go forward. you said you probably will have a wealth tax. well, we ll see. we haven t seen the bill yet. you said it s being written right now and you re going to send it to this is a senate proposal. they supposedly are writing it today. tomorrow they would introduce it. and then the joint tax committee is the one that says this is how much you get from that. but, again, on our side, we have been totally ready with alternatives in terms of house and senate and the white house. we have plenty of alternatives. we re ready. what is your response to progressives who say that democrats are in danger of breaking the promise to roll back the trump tax cuts and to fully pay for the plan? we re going to fully pay for the plan. we ll probably more than pay for the plan. one bill does not make a
