Land Degradation Surveillance Framework with Drylands Transform


 
East African drylands are being examined using the Framework to find ways to speed and enrich restoration under a project funded by the Swedish research council, Formas.
 
Drylands Transform is a 4-year research project funded by Formas, the Government of Sweden’s research council for sustainable development. It formally began during the COVID-19 pandemic, in October 2020. As part of the #GenerationRestoration movement, Drylands Transform will generate scientific evidence and gather traditional knowledge of rangeland restoration in East Africa Ethiopia. Kenya, South Sudan and Uganda   to guide and inform restoration efforts and contribute to expansion of scale globally.
Drylands Transform features an interdisciplinary research team representing the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and seven other universities and international organizations from Sweden, Kenya and Uganda, including World Agroforestry (ICRAF). ....
