Get trapped in because the access roads out of our neighborhood would be flooded. Reporter the problem thats developed here is quite simply an ice jam that forces the current to accumulate in isolated areas. The worst of it has been right here at the intersection of river road and ferry road in lower makefield. So, local officials are urging commuters to avoid the area. The river continues to be ice dammed along the calhoun street bridge so the river is unpredictable. The water could rise a little bit and even some ice flows could come up on the roadway. Reporter now, minor flooding in this area begins at 20 feet. Right now its right around 21 feet, maybe a little lower so obviously it could have been a lot worse. Also, parts of route 29 across the river over in new jersey were shut down today as a precaution but this intersection of river road and ferry road in lower makefield remains closed at this hour.
