Indices off day's high; metal stocks lose shine

Key equity barometers bounced back after briefly slipping into the negative terrain in morning trade. The Nifty hovered above 15,200 mark. The moderation in daily new Covid cases in India improved risk sentiments. Barring metal and FMCG, all the sectoral indices on the NSE were in the green.
At 10:28 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was up 168.67 points or 0.33% at 50,709.76. The Nifty 50 index was up 30.3 points or 0.2% at 15,205.50.
In broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index was up 0.52% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 0.61%.
The market breadth was positive. On the BSE, 1735 shares rose and 1026 shares fell. A total of 156 shares were unchanged. ....

New Delhi, Feb 17 : As equity and equity-linked mutual fund schemes continue to witness outflow of funds, Bandhan Bank, Godrej Consumer and Abbott India Ltd were among the top stocks to be sold by mutual funds in the month of January.
As per the data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), equity-linked mutual fund schemes saw a net outflow of Rs 9,253.22 crore last month.
The net outflow stood at Rs 10,147.12 crore in December, Rs 12,917.36 crore in November, Rs 2,724.95 crore in October, and Rs 734.40 crore in September. ....

NEW DELHI: Around 6 stocks fell to touch their 52-week lows on NSE in Thursday s session.
Among the stocks that touched their 52-week lows on NSE were: Acrysil Ltd; Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities; Fairchem Organics; Jump Networks; Kanpur Plastipack; Vishal Fabrics.
Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty was trading 2.10 points up at 14566.95, while the BSE Sensex was trading 2.19 points up at 49494.51.
On the other hand, L&T Tech, BEL, Lakshmi Machine, Tata Elxsi and GAIL stocks hit their fresh 52-week high today.
