TRSMA demands reopening of all educational institutions

KARIMNAGAR: Representatives from Telangana Residential Schools Management Association (TRSMA) on Thursday met district collector, K. Shashanka and submitted a memorandum asking him to petition the government for reopening all educational institutions immediately.

Hyderabad: No bird flu has been reported in the state. Health Minister Eatala Rajender and animal husbandry minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on January 12 said that no cases of bird flu transmission to people have been recorded till now.
1,000 samples were screened in the last three days after chickens died in a few districts, but the reports came negative. There were no signs of bird flu in the state and all measures were being taken to monitor the unusual death of migratory birds and chickens.

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government appointed former minister Vakiti Sunitha Lakshma Reddy as the Chairperson to the State Women s Commission, a position which has been vacant since 2018.
Six others have been appointed as members of the Commission, according to a Government Order (GO). As per the GO the term of the Chairperson and the members would be five years from the date on which they assume office.
The State Women s Commission has been headless since Tripurana Venkata Ratnam demitted office about two and half years ago.The TRS government has come under flak from opposition parties for not appointing a chairperson to the women s commission. The appointment of the chairperson had come after a relentless fight by the activists for almost 2 years where petitions were filed in the Telangana High Court. Former minister Vakiti Sunitha Lakshma Reddy was appointed as chairperson of the Telangana state women’s commission, nearly two and a half years after the post fell vacant. The women’s commission also got six new members who will hold office till 2025.
