Not everyone knows about the new 988 mental health hotline.
To raise awareness about the free service, North Idaho teacher Stacie Lawler has organized a run and relay in collaboration with the Lake Pend Oreille School District. Lawler, who was named the Idaho Teacher of the Year in 2020, is a physical education teacher who is passionate about educating, running and mental health. This project combines those three passions.
It promises to be a dyno-mite and magical evening, Pend Oreille Arts Council officials said of Friday’s Lightwire Theater’s “Dino-Light”.
The “glow-in-the-dark adventure” will enchant with its unique fusion of puppetry, cutting-edge technology, music and dance, POAC Executive Director Tone Stolz said.
Funds raised during the Toys for Tots campaign go to purchase new toys for area children or gift cards for older youth who live in the Lake Pend Oreille School District. Every Christmas, the Lions help almost 1,000 area children, from Sandpoint to Clark Fork and all points in between.
