[email protected] BROWN COUNTY Brown County commissioners unanimously accepted an anonymous $10,234.20 donation Tuesday for families and individuals facing financial hardship at Christmas. Action came on a motion by Commissioner Dave Borchert, seconded by Commissioner Jeff Veerkamp. Brown County Human Services Director Barb Dietz said a week before Christmas she got a phone call from the anonymous donor who wanted to reach out to people in need with a Christmas gift. “I reached out to social workers to find people in financial need for utilities, rent, medical and dental bills,” Dietz said. “I received nine families and individuals in need from staff. All of the donation money goes directly to vendors, not clients.” ....
NOTICE OF INTENT TO OPERATE AERATION SYSTEM Notice is hereby given that Brown County in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources plan to operate a helixor aeration system near the east shoreline of Lake Hanska below Fort Hill in Lake Hanska County Park in Section 33-T108N-R31W in Lake Hanska Township of Brown County. Operation of the system will begin between December 21st, 2020, and January 31, 2021, as the lake conditions warrant. Weather conditions may cause the areas of thin ice and open water to fluctuate greatly, STAY CLEAR OF THE MARKED AREAS! The marked area is restricted by Brown County Ordinance 1993-04.
