there s some good news. let s get to storm team 4 janice huff for the good news. reporter: the good news is it appears joaquin may miss the entire east coast all together. the bad news, though, is it is still over the bahamas. you saw the video. they are still pounded there from the wind and the waves. and that s not going to change until tomorrow night. we also can t let our guard down because of the other coastal storm coming here tomorrow. joaquin is still a category four over the bahamas tonight. winds are 130 miles an hour. the storm slowed down, which is the worst news they needed there and a tropical storm warning was issued for eastern cuba. they may feel the effects, as well. it will start to pull away tomorrow night, still as a category four. notice the track. it is narrower and farther off shore. now it looks as though it will miss us all together, everybody on the east coast. the effects will be more minor in terms of wave action and coastal flooding. however,
chris, a lot of these shore communities trying to build up those dunes, trying to put as much space as they can between them and the water. absolutely. this is an example. this particular storm coming up, this is not the hurricane joaquin. it will do some damage. even nor easters can certainly create damage along the immediate coastal areas. this will do some before all is said and done. we still have some rough weather to get through. live radar shows it s generally a light rain across the area right now. the areas of yellow indicative of a couple heavier showers out there. the real heavy stuff still sitting off to the south of us. the other part of the story, it s chilly. 50 to 55. but with strong wind gusts and rain coming down, it s a rough one out there. latest wind gusts so far, just beginning to ramp up. 25-mile-an-hour wind gusts in the city. we ve seen them over 30 on the east end of long island. they could get closer to 40 or 50-mile-per-hour wind gusts along the
