and what we re learning about the victim. reporter: he was a talented jockey, but didn t know how to swim and they don t understand why he wasn t wearing a life vest. after hours of uncertainty the family s worst fears were confirmed. the body of shawn spikes had been recovered by divers in like del lle. spikes had been a well known horse jockey with a promising future. bright young man, that lives his dreams basically from a pup, small 6, 7 years old, set his sights on becoming a jockey as a professional and accomplished that. reporter: spikes had been on a boat with fellow jockeys tuesday night when he fell overboard. we believe he was doing a turning maneuver on the boat. from what we gathered initially is he did not have his life vest on and is not a strong swimmer. during the preliminary stage of the investigation we don t believe foul play was involved. reporter: rescuers searched for hours overnight. ultimately the body was found in 65 feet of water not far f
