There’s a lot about 2020 people would like to forget, but when it comes to the protests on civil rights, one group hopes 2021 will bring some of the changes they called for. It starts with permanent representation at the state capitol, something Boys and Girls Club of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson was first made aware of during the summer protests. “There was a group of young people on the streets that shared with me that there was no representation of people of color at the state capitol,” Johnson said. “And I don’t know if I couldn’t believe it, but I was like, ‘Black folks and people of color have been in this state for 150 plus years,’ I just couldn’t imagine that being the truth.” ....
