On-loan Arsenal forward Tyreece John-Jules is back with Town and a couple of weeks away from joining in with the rest of the squad, while manager Kieran McKenna has no new injury worries going into tomorrow’s trip to MK Dons with George Edmundson back in training.
Town are down to fourth following a frustrating 0-0 draw away at Bristol Rovers. Both teams had hit the woodwork, the Blues through Marcus Harness and Argyle via Ryan Hardie, before Burns lashed a strike into the roof of the net from the right of the area from a Luke Woolfenden lay-off and Town looked on their way to three points until Mumba found the top corner to claim a share of the points in front of 29,069 fans, the highest crowd since the Gamechanger takeover.
Town’s Carabao Cup run came to an end at the fourth round stage after the Blues were beaten 3-1 by Premier League Fulham at Portman Road. The visitors went in front via Harry Wilson in the ninth minute as they dominated the first half but didn’t find a second goal until five minutes after the restart via Rodrigo Muniz. Tom Cairney’s third on 77 all but sealed it, however, Elkan Baggott netted his first Town goal two minutes later to give the Blues late hope of a comeback which ultimately never came to fruition.
Jack Taylor smashed a brilliant 25-yard winner as Town came from two goals behind to beat Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 at Portman Road to reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup for the first time in 13 years. Hwang Hee-Chan put Wolves in front in the fourth minute, then Toti made it 2-0 on the quarter-hour mark, before the Blues fought back, Omari Hutchinson pulling one back in the 28th minute, Freddie Ladapo levelling on 39 prior to Taylor completing a remarkable turnaround with his stunner 13 minutes into the second half.
