Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Eva-Maria Liimets and Minister of Interior Kristian Jaani suddenly lost their jobs on Friday when Prime Minister Kaja Kallas kicked the Center Party out of government. Both have said they will take a break before deciding what to do next, newspaper Postimees reported.
The junior coalition partner Center Party and its seven ministers were dismissed from the government by Prime Minister Kaja Kallas (Reform) on Friday after weeks of political deadlock. Reform will now start negotiations with Isamaa and SDE.
Martin Helme, chairman of the opposition Conservative People's Party (EKRE), said that he has spoken over the phone to Center leader Jüri Ratas to discuss recreating the three-way coalition of EKRE, Center and Isamaa.
The government will not collapse if Reform abandons its opposition to the draft family benefits bill and makes proposals to increase payments, EKRE chairman Martin Helme said on Tuesday.
