PHILIPPINE STAR/ MICHAEL VARCAS THE COUNTRY’S jobs situation improved in May as the ranks of unemployed and underemployed Filipinos fell after lockdown curbs were eased, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed. Preliminary results of the May 2021 round of the Labor Force Survey  released on Thursday put the country’s unemployment rate at 7.7%, down from the 8.7% recorded in April. This was the second-lowest unemployment rate recorded since the start of the year, following the 7.1% posted in March.
