The local va is asking for help though. Theyre looking for more caregivers who are willing to house veterans. The coordinator of the program says you wont have to do it alone theres a primary care team that will help with the veterans needs. She says its important that people realize this program is in demand because you underestimate the comfort of a home. A lot of veterans could receive care through the va contract Nursing Home Program which they wouldnt have to pay for and instead choose to pay for medical foster home because they want to have that familylike environment, because they want to live in a home, because they choose not to live in an institution.
