Today, the planning and zoning board unanimously survey. That includes plans to acquire an 80foot, permanent utility easement and a land. The next step is for the city council to approve the plans. The city of sioux city appointed three important new positions this morning. Bob scott was sworn in as the mayor of sioux city. Scott broke a record by becoming the longest serving mayor in city history. He has served the past 11 years and his fouryear term began today after running unopposed for reelection. Councilwoman rhonda capron began her second term with todays swearing in ceremony. She defeated her only challenger, thomas venesky, in the election. Council member, dan moore, also new mayor pro tempore. sheila Woodbury County also gained some new leadership today. As the county supervisors chair
