Trail bridges funding
At the April 19 Hanover council meeting, council received a report about Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) Funding for trail bridges.

Hanover director of Parks, Recreation and Culture Sherri Walden presented the report.
At the Dec. 13, 2018 meeting, council received a Trails Bridges 2 and 4 Direction report and approved the following motion that Structures 2 and 4 on the Community Trails System continue to be closed to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic; and that council consider the complete restoration of these structures in the 2019 capital budget.
In 2019, council approved $250,000 in the capital budget for trails system bridge work. At the July 15 meeting, council received a report noting that while repairing the bridges would open this section of the trail for use, it may not be the best long-term solution. ....

Site Plan Control Agreement
At the March 1 committee-of-the-whole meeting, Hanover council authorized the mayor and clerk to enter into a Site Plan Control Agreement to allow 2745632 Ontario Inc. to construct a new six-storey apartment and mixed use building to be located at 223 10
th Street.

On June 5, 2019, Sibghat Ullah contacted the town with interest in purchasing the vacant property located at the corner of 7th Avenue and 10th Street for the purpose of constructing a new six-storey apartment building with commercial uses on the first floor.
Subsequent to numerous meetings and discussions regarding the purchase process and the Site Plan Control Agreement, a Letter of Intent (LOI) was presented to council on July 13, 2020. The next day an LOI was signed authorizing the town to commence discussions on selling the vacant lot at 223 10th Street to Ullah. ....
