Lok Sabha polls: Congress banks on Nari 'Shakti' in Karnataka

The Congress party believes that poll guarantees like free bus travel for female passengers under the Shakti scheme and a monthly aid of Rs 2,000 through the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme will attract women voters. However, the BJP says that these poll guarantees will drive the state into bankruptcy and will not impact the Lok Sabha polls.

Karnataka Temples to get tech-lift: devotees will soon book poojas in Chamundeshwari, Kollur Mookambika on app

Devotees visiting Chamundeshwari temple in Mysuru, Kollur Mookambika temple in Udupi, Kukke Subramanya in Dakshina Kannada, or Kotilingeshwara Temple in Kolar may soon be able to book services with the Karnataka government s new Namma Muzrai app. The app will enable them to book services in 25 major temples across the state, and in the future, it will be extended to 34,563 temples. Additionally, the government will use the app for direct-benefit-transfer (DBT) to temples, scholarship amounts for priests childrens education, and compensation upon the priests death.
