WASHINGTON The United States added dozens of Chinese companies, including the country s top chipmaker SMIC and Chinese drone manufacturer SZ DJI Technology Co Ltd, to a trade blacklist on Friday as U.S. President Donald Trump s administration ratchets up tensions with China in his final weeks in office.
Reuters first reported the addition of SMIC and other companies earlier on Friday. The move is seen as the latest in Republican Trump s efforts to burnish his tough-on-China image as part of lengthy fight between Washington and Beijing over trade and numerous economic issues.

Since China is already invading the US, stealing data and even hacking through its telecommunication methods, and after realizing China s evil deeds, the US is imposing several sanctions alongside the EU. US Adds Chinese Drone Company DJI to Economic Blacklist

China’s SZ DJI Technology Co, the world’s largest drone maker, on Friday was added to the US government’s economic blacklist along with dozens of other Chinese companies.
Reuters reported earlier that dozens of Chinese companies were being added to the so-called entity list, including the country’s top chipmaker, SMIC.
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross on Friday criticized what he called China’s “ubiquitous surveillance to repress its citizens in Xinjiang and elsewhere.”
The Commerce Department added DJI, AGCU Scientech, China National Scientific Instruments and Materials, and Kuang-Chi Group because the four companies “enabled wide-scale human rights abuses within China through abusive genetic collection and analysis or high-technology surveillance.”
DJI says products will remain on sale after being added to US ‘entity list’
Yesterday the U.S. Department of Commerce included DJI among the 77 new entries on its “entity list.” Precisely what this means for the company’s future in the States remains uncertain, but it has since responded to TechCrunch’s request for comment.
“DJI is disappointed in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s decision,” a spokesperson for the drone giant tells TechCrunch. “Customers in America can continue to buy and use DJI products normally. DJI remains committed to developing the industry’s most innovative products that define our company and benefit the world.”
