The family of a Newport News man who was shot and killed by police in 2019 have agreed to settle a pending wrongful death claim against two police officers.
Henry K. “Hank” Berry III was shot and killed inside his home by a Newport News police officer in 2019. Now that criminal cases against two of the involved officers have been resolved one ending in acquittal and the other in a conviction a $15 million wrongful death lawsuit can move forward.
