Beach Volleyball Inks 2021 Team IMPACT Recruit Powie Patterson

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State beach volleyball team is excited to announce the program has signed Powie Patterson through Team Impact Today, Powie signed an official letter of intent to play beach volleyball at Florida State University, while sitting next to her family, including mother Kristen Patterson, father Charlie brother Eli and Sister Aubrey. The Seminoles’ top recruit will become an official member of the beach volleyball team. Powie celebrated her signing with Florida State by running through some drills in the sand with members of the team and her sister Aubrey. She is currently battling Mitochondrial Disease, a disorder that occurs when structures that produce energy for a cell malfunction. “We are paired with Team IMPACT because my daughter has a rare genetic disease called Mitochondrial Disease,” said Powie’s mother Kristen Patterson. “She was diagnosed when she was an infant. MIDLAND, Texas Kristen Patterson and her family weren t supposed to be on a late flight to Florida for vacation, but they decided that they wanted to sleep in. However, that change in flight helped save a young woman s life.
