When people walked through the bright blue doors into Mykonos Authentic Greek Cookery, owner Andreas Salivaras met many with a look. Most got a big-grinned welcome. But not everyone.

At 88, she wrote a thriller based on her remarkable career
Ruth Anderson helped bring women into the federal government. She died at 93.

For as long as her granddaughters can remember, Ruth Anderson was working on her book.
“Mom would say, I don’t know that she’s ever gonna get her book done,” said granddaughter Elizabeth Spencer.
But at 88, Mrs. Anderson did. Her book,
Whistleblower and Double Agents, was “straight out of a James Bond movie,” the
Citrus County Chroniclereported in 2017. “It’s chock-full of intrigue, suspense, romance and action. And it all rings true because many of the events actually happened during her days at the NRC.” ....

Regulating big tech has become a global preoccupation; how such regulation might affect journalism is less clear. A couple of months after the controversial Australian News Media and Digital Platform Bargaining Code came into force, requiring Google and Facebook to pay for news in the country, competition ministers around the world are considering whether to adapt it and adopt it at home. 
In the past, European governments have tried to use copyright law to get Google and Facebook to pay for news; they are continuing down that route with the recent European Copyright Directive.  ....
