Services will be Thursday for the Phillipsburg police officer who died Saturday in an off-duty motorcycle crash.
Dominic Belcastro was 38 years old when he died in the crash on Memorial Parkway in Phillipsburg. Warren County Prosecutor James Pfeiffer said the Stewartsville resident had the right of way in the crash.
Belcastro was a Phillipsburg native who leaves behind a wife and two daughters. A viewing will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Walter’s Park, 1 Meyner Road, Phillipsburg. ....

As a husband, Dominic “Dom” Belcastro was larger-than-life, with an upbeat personality. He adored the girl he met in the classroom while they both attended Phillipsburg High School and she felt the same. They were inseparable best of friends even before marriage.
As the father of two young girls, one in elementary school and another in middle school, he was hopelessly devoted and their biggest cheerleaders, his wife said. On the force, fellow Phillipsburg Police Department officers recalled their colleague of about nine years as dedicated and neighboring law enforcement described him as “one of the good ones.” ....
