London’s Koya is taking its famed udon noodles nationwide with the launch of a meal kit that fits through letterboxes.
Delivered by ‘Koya Mail’, the Omiyage box will be available from 15 February and contains two portions of dashi broth and udon noodles in a Koya-branded wool-insulated package.
Handmade the day before dispatch, the udon and dashi are vacuum-packed to give a seven-day shelf life.
Each box will come with a recipe card from Koya’s head chef and co-owner Shuko Oda, starting with a simple recipe on how to cook the udon and dashi at home.
The collectible cards will change monthly and will be supplemented with Instagram videos, with upcoming recipe cards offering tips on how to recreate Koya s other udon noodle dishes, including lamb cumin miso.
