Those that follow the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer have asked him if he ever re-rates matches he’s seen and praised with his precious star-ratings. His response, by and large, has been no. But there have been a few exceptions. The match we’re looking at today was the first time of three that Meltzer changed a rating for a match. He adored this particular match so much that he initially rated it as being more than five stars out of five. But then, he said it was so good that he upgraded it even further beyond that. Clearly, Meltzer thinks this match is absolutely fantastic, that it’s a must-watch match that’s better than almost anything over the past thirty-plus years of professional wrestling. ....

AEW Dynamite live results: Omega vs. Janela no DQ match

World Champion Kenny Omega will be in action in a no DQ match against Joey Janela on tonight s AEW Dynamite.
Omega and Janela were originally scheduled to face off in the first round of the AEW World title eliminator tournament in October. Janela ended up being pulled from the tournament due to contact tracing. Omega went on to win the tournament, beating Hangman Page at Full Gear in the finals.
Should Janela win, he will be granted a future title shot against Omega.
A 12-man tag is also scheduled for tonight s show. Last week s battle between MJF and Orange Cassidy for the Dynamite Diamond Ring saw involvement in, or interference from, all fourteen competitors. The match will be Chris Jericho, MJF, Santana, Ortiz, Sammy Guevara & Jake Hager vs. Best Friends, Top Flight & Varsity Blondes. ....

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega battled Joey Janela in a No Disqualification match on Dynamite.

The main event bout on Wednesday was also a World Title Eliminator match, meaning that if Janela could win, he would then receive a future AEW World Championship match against Omega.
Janela didn t want to waste any time and attacked the champ with a garbage can as Omega was making his entrance.
Omega recovered and delivered a Kotaro Crusher to Janela on a steel chair outside the ring. Omega s manager Don Callis grabbed a microphone and started giving live commentary on how great Omega is. ....
