NIELIT conducts workshop for law students on digital forensics

DIMAPUR NIELIT Kohima and MietY, government of India, conducted a one-day workshop programme for the students of Kohima Law College on May 11 at NIELIT Kohima auditorium on the theme “Embracing the power of digital forensics in legal practice.” An update from NIELIT Kohima stated that its director, L Lanuwabang, in his welcome address, briefly deliberated and highlighted the importance of cyber forensics. One of the special guests and Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma, encouraged the students pursuing law to learn and imbibe modern cyber forensics knowledge along with traditional customary laws. He also emphasised the dark rise of cybercrime and alerted the students to be cautious users while accessing technology. Another special guest and General of Assam Rifles (North), Major General Vikas Lakhera, shared his experiences and urged the students to stay aware of malicious online predators and explore the vast area of digital forensics.
