A federal judge has rejected parents request to immediately halt the Terrebonne Parish School Board s actions to close Pointe-aux-Chenes Elementary until a hearing on their lawsuit is held.
U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier rejected the plaintiffs request for a temporary restraining order in a decision Friday.
To win such a ruling, plaintiffs are usually required to show irreparable harm will occur unless a judge takes immediate action. That s something the School Board, in court papers, argues the plaintiffs have failed to show.
