Friday 15 January - Live At The Bowl Club DJ and designer Soju Gang brings you SorBaes - a community summer party Live at the Bowl. Featuring the debut Naarm performance from Malyangapa, Barkindji artist BARKAA, celebrating her debut single For My Tittas . Kobi Spice will bring the heat, before a performance from Footscray’s POOKIE off the back of her electrifying debut single Tuesday . They’ll be backed by The Soju Gang House Band along with DJ sets from C.FRIM, MAI and Soju Gang herself. More special guests to be announced. $5 from every ticket sold will go to the Dhadjowa Foundation (founded by Apryl Day, daughter of the late Aunty Tanya Day) an organisation that supports and amplifies the voices of families whose loved ones have died in custody. ....

From January, Melbourne’s beloved Sidney Myer Music Bowl will be transformed into a hotspot (the good kind) of the best live acts in Australia. A joint initiative by Arts Centre Melbourne and the Victorian government, Live at the Bowl will play host to a series of Australian events and performances held over several weeks. Taking place at the Melbourne Museum Plaza every Friday and Saturday night between January 8 and 23, the Summer Plaza Series boasts an incredible lineup of local acts. The eclectic program kicks off with Halo Vocal Ensemble on Friday January 8. Helmed by MzRizk and featuring 12 artists including TATAFU, thando, Michaela Jayde and more, the Halo Vocal Ensemble looks to put a modern spin on choral music with performances of classic and contemporary R&B, soul, funk and hip hop. ....
