JAMMU, Jan 20: Jammu Kashmir has been ranked at the bottom in the NITI Aayog’s Innovation Index, released today, covering all the States and Union Territories across India.
Among the Union Territories, Delhi tops the ranking in all the groups , followed by Chandigarh whereas Lakshadweep and Jammu Kashmir occupy the last two positions in the group respectively.
Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Kerala have been ranked as the top five States while Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Bihar are at the bottom of the innovation index, released today by the NITI Aayog’s Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar and Amitabh Kant. ....

BENGALURU: Karnataka has retained the top position in the innovation index for a second year in a row, a pointer to its strength in maintaining the leadership position. The state’s innovation score of 42.5 was way above the average score of 25.35 among the major states. Maharashtra was in second place with a score of 38 and Bihar in the last place with just 14.5. Among City States and Union Territories, Delhi topped list. ....

A team of researchers from the National University of Singapore (NUS) has utilized a ground-breaking artificial intelligence (AI) platform to derive an optimal combination of available therapies against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.
Their results showed that the optimal drug therapy was a combination of the drugs remdesivir, ritonavir, and lopinavir at specific doses.
Remdesivir is a broad antiviral medication that was recently approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration as a treatment for COVID-19. The team showed that a combination of remdesivir with ritonavir and lopinavir led to a treatment that was 6.5 times more effective than the limited effects of remdesivir alone. ....
