Northern Light Vaccine Clinic to be Held Tuesday Despite Storm Northern Light Health will hold its vaccination clinic at the Cross Insurance Center on Tuesday, despite forecasts for winter weather. Bad weather is a fact of life in Maine, especially in February. And this year is no exception, with the month starting off amidst a forecast of snow, wind, and a possible wintry mix on Tuesday. Coincidentally, that s also the opening day for the large-scale vaccination clinic at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Over the weekend, Northern Light released a statement indicating that the vaccination site will be open, as planned, on Tuesday, February 2nd, despite the predicted winter storm. Northern Light s medical staff will be at the facility to give vaccinations to anyone who has pre-registered and can safely get to the Cross Insurance Center, at the scheduled time of their appointment. Anyone who is unable to be there, due to the weather, is encouraged to call Norther ....
Cross Insurance Center to Become COVID Vaccine Site Northern Light Health has announced that the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor is being set up as a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Administering the COVID-19 vaccine has been challenging, from the urgency of residents who want to get vaccinated, to the lack of supplies being sent to Maine. Northern Light has been accommodating as best they could, with small clinics set up around the area, and vaccines being given to people who are most at risk of complications from the virus. The smaller sites were a good stop gap measure to get shots into people s arms as quickly as possible to stop the spread of this deadly virus, said Matt Marston of Northern Light Pharmacy, in a media release. ....
Scam Calls Target Elderly Anxious to Schedule Vaccine Appointment The Maine CDC has been made aware of scammers who are targeting elderly residents eager to get their COVID-19 vaccine appointments. You knew it had to happen. Scammers will show up during any type of crisis including, unfortunately, a pandemic. According to Dr. Nirav Shah, of the Maine Center for Disease Control, the calls are targeting elderly residents and originating from an 844 area code. That could change once the crooks realize that officials are onto them, so be wary of any calls involving scheduling vaccine appointments. The tip-off, according to Dr. Shah, is that these people will ask the patient for their social security number in order to process their appointment. Or, they may be posing as contact tracers who, again, will ask for that social security number. Dr. Shah said, in a media briefing on Tuesday, that this is a dead giveaway. Maine CDC workers will never ask for your social securit ....
Northern Light Health Establishes COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline Northern Light Health now has a hotline available to residents 70 and over, without internet access, who wish to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination. The people at Northern Light Health recognize that not everyone has internet access, and so they needed to come up with another way for these folks to schedule their appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine. A hotline number is now open and can be accessed at (207) 204-8551. The phone line opened at 9 a.m. for patient information, but will not be available for scheduling until 2 p.m. They expect that the call volume will be high, so anyone with internet access is still encouraged to go to the online signup site. Northern Light Health is working with the Maine CDC in the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine and aims to make the process the best and most efficient experience they can. The vaccine is currently available to residents age 70 and over. ....
6 Things You Need to Know Before Getting the COVID-19 Vaccine The rollout has begun for the COVID-19 vaccine, and so we have a few tips to keep in mind as you qualify to receive the serum. It s a hopeful time, as residents begin to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Maybe we can finally get back to some sort of normalcy, although I think there are some things that will never be quite the way they were. And maybe that s a good thing. It amazes me, everyday, the things we took for granted, like eating french fries after a shopping trip without washing our hands. It s no wonder so many of us got colds and flu every year. ....
