David Royce Lovering, 77, passed away peacefully at home on January 29th, 2024. He was born on September 27th, 1946, to Royce and Joyce (McCall) Lovering in Granite Falls, MN. He graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1964 and joined the US Army in 1965 where he served in Vietnam from 1966-1967. He returned home and moved to the Twin Cities where he met and married Christie Mertz in 1977. Dave and Christie had their first child (Zach) in 1979 and moved to the Brainerd Lakes area where Dave went to technical school and started a small engine repair business. They moved to Pine River where they had their second child (Becky). Dave eventually became the Kitchigami Library’s bookmobile driver and retired in 2004.

The Pine River Public Library is preparing to close out 2020 and get ready for 2021.
Entering 2021, the library will continue to offer only contactless pickup services. Patrons may request materials online using the Kitchigami catalog at www.krls.org or by calling or emailing the library. Library staff can assist with book selections and set up a time for patrons to pick them up.
The library will operate under regular business hours, including Saturdays starting in January.
To start the new year, the library will host a winter reading program for adult patrons. The Snow Time to Read program is open to ages 18 and older and will be eight weeks long, from Monday, Jan. 4, through Saturday, Feb. 27.
