The city of Kirksville recognized Lt. Chelsea Burkhiser for five years of service with the city. Burkhiser began with the Kirksville Fire Department on March 18, 2019. She was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on July 24, 2023. Burkhiser has completed Firefighter I and Firefighter II certifications, as well as for Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic.
