In terms of small cities, Logan is one of the best, according to a recent report by the Milken Institute.
According to Kirk Jensen, Logan Economic Development director, the report took number of factors into consideration including the city’s jobs, wages, tech growth, housing and broadband access.
“We have life science manufacturers, food processing companies, other high-tech operations, said Jensen. So that is probably one of our strongest attributes when describing our economy is that it is diversified.”
Utah State University contributes to the city’s economy by not only being the top employer in the community, but also by welcoming its largest freshman class to the Logan campus in the fall.

Whitewater is receiving $1 Million in CERIP funding for the development of the first phase of creating a new summer operations/tourism and hospitality business centered on mountain biking, hiking, and climbing.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay, in partnership with Whitewater Ski Resort, is receiving a funding grant under the B.C. Government’s Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program (CERIP) destination development stream worth $1 Million.
The BC Government announced last week that 54 new tourism projects throughout the province is receiving funding, which is investing in implementation-ready tourism infrastructure and amenities projects that support the recovery and resilience of tourism.
