CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – There’s a new name for the downtown pavilion to which Fridays At Five returns in a couple of weeks. Pending approval June 7 by City Council for a name change, the pavilion’s Kirby Hutto says they will become the Ting Pavilion. Ting Internet has been part of the Charlottesville community since 2014, and Hutto says they’ve been talking to each other at times over the past 3-to-4 years.
Hutto says Sprint went away after they merged with T-Mobile, and the time for a new name is here. Red Light Management, the Charlottesville Pavilion, and Ting Internet have entered a five year agreement.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Many people are wondering what the future looks like for Fridays After Five, since it was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
âFridays are such an integral part of the downtown experience during the summer months and I know people have missed it, but we are still waiting for the signals from the government that itâs safe for us to gather in crowds that size,â Sprint Pavilion Genera Manager Kirby Hutto said.
