Healing and Hope : NYC Pastor Helps Rebuild Nigerian Church Burned by Muslim Militants

05-04-2021 Five years after Fulani Muslim militants attacked a Nigerian village, killing hundreds of residents and burning down the local Methodist church, an American pastor and an attorney stepped in to help the community rebuild the church building so the community could worship together in time for Easter Sunday. The Christian Post (CP) reports New York City Pastor William P.B. Devlin, CEO of the nongovernmental organization REDEEM!, and Emmanuel Ogebe, an international human rights lawyer from the U.S.-based Nigeria Law Group, worked together to help the Agatu community located in the Benue state of the West African country.

Troops of the Operation Safe Haven on Saturday, 1 May 2021 at about 0835pm rescued a kidnapped Student of Kings College Gana Ropp Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, said Media Officer Major Shittu Ibrahim. This was achieved through the sustained search and rescue operation by the troops, without payment of ransom, Ibrahim added. The rescued student who is hale and hearty has since been reunited with other students in the college.
